Minnesota Fishing Report Clubs - ONLY 20 FREE MEMBERSHIPS Per Area - Join Today - FREE   03/08/2018

Fishing Minnesota has added a new menu item (see above) called Fishing Report Clubs. It's a way to keep the really good fishing reports coming and being shared only with those who also provide detailed fishing reports. We will only approve new members who request to join if they have already posted a recent fishing report in the area forum, associated with the Fishing Report Club area  you want to join. Initially we are going to limit the number of regular memberships, in the Fishing Report Clubs, to the top 20 members in each Club, to those with the best frequency and quality fishing reports provided in the club and less so in the regular fishing report forum open to all members. The higher quality fishing report reserved for the club of course. If  you want see detailed fishing reports/tips  around your area and will share your detailed fishing report as soon as you join, then Join Now! Some of the clubs are starting to fill fast. Use the Fishing Reports Club link in the Menu above (after you've posted a fishing report in the regular area forum) and request to Join.

You know what we all love...

When you enchant people, you fill them with delight and yourself in return. Have Fun!!!

Some more recurve Q's

Recommended Posts

These two recurves I have were bought both for 50 bucks from a neighbor. Ones a Ben pearsons 7329 BP-H52 an the other is a Perfection Samba 56 inch Jr.

The ben pearson is a 50# bow with a 28 inch draw

The Samba is a 28# bow with a 28 inch draw.

I used to shoot a compound with a 32 inch draw length, Im thinking these are a little to small for for me, I dont know cause I dont know much of anything of recurve shooting.

I do know that I got a steel an they are in great shape an the Ben bow is listed for as much as 150.00 The Samba Ive seen But with a 26# 28" stats for as much as 300.00

I thought Id do a bear next year with 50# ben, but Not quite sure if its the draw length fits me. If nothing else My daughter is very interested so She can have some fun with them anyway. ANy insight would be great. Thanks Boar

With recurves the poundage is listed for the draw length,so 50#@28" means the draw weight is 50# at 28" with your 32" draw you would be around 62#

Ok I see wat ya mean now the 28" isnt draw length but draw weight at that distance, 62 lbs will do a bear nicely. Boy did i have that messed up,LOL! Thanks Arch much appreciated. More to lern on the recurves for sure. Later boar

I took a set of my mother's ear- rings and made lures out of them.. Do not remember if i ever caught anything on them. But they were flashy.

lakes like Ottertail Lake had 1000-1500 castles on it this year.  we are very concerned about pressure.  good points in this thread that could apply to many other minnesota large lakes.

I think everyone buying a wheel house and heading out for days at a time is what has really caused fish to move out of the area more than anything.  I think it would be interesting to have the major resorts track the fish cleaned by their guides summer verse winter.  It sure seems to me they take way more people out ice fishing than summer fishing.

There may be way more pressure in the winter but the harvest is MUCH higher in the summer.  Fish are far more active and feeding heavily in the summer months than they are in the cold water months.  Plus in the summer there is this thing called hooking mortality.  The days of keeping 4 or 6 walleyes and 10 crappies are coming to an end.  Its unsustainable virtually everywhere including a large body of water like LOTW.
