Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Lure Auction this Saturday!

Recommended Posts

Hey all -

I want to invite you all to the Bemidji/Cass Lake Muskies Inc chapter lure auction this Saturday evening at Cattails. The fun starts at 6:30pm up in the Duck Blind (aka Muskie Room)

You don't need to be a member to come and get a bunch of great deals for literally pennies on the dollar.

You never know what you're going to find there - new and used lures, poles, etc...

Tell your friends!

I hope to see some of you there -

Can anyone that attends bring lures in as well to "swap" or sell?

Basser - there is no swap function at the event. People bring in unused/unwanted lures and equipment for others to purchase as new treasures (the ole one persons junk may be gold as gold to someone else concept) but all the stuff is first "donated" to the Bemidji/Cass Lake chapter of Muskies Inc, the club keeps all the proceeds.

That said its still a great time, you can get some really nice stuff for really cheap and meet some great folks. There are lots of brand new baits as well as used stuff. We will have a few custom made trolling baits from Duff Thury who makes Supernaturals and Headlocks, thanks to Duff's generous donation. These baits are tough to get ahold of and are killer at catching large fish in this area.

The Chapter is also cleaning lake accesses earlier in the day Saturday. We are meeting at the Northwoods Landing near Cattails at 10am, we'll clean that access and move on to additional ones from there. The public is also welcome to come help out with those efforts.

Come by for either/or, both will be fun.

Had another good weekend of fishing.  Fished Thursday evening to Saturday afternoon and found consistent action all hours of the day.  Caught 5 slotters 22-25", and was able to be picky on eaters, only keeping 15-17" walleyes.  Plenty of small eyes also, plus I caught 4 eelpout. I did learn a lesson on how to take eelpout off of the hook.  I tried to lift a 20" pout out of the hole by line and the hook pulled out and embedded the bobber in my styrofoam ceiling.  The next time I used the fish pliers to lift the slimy fish out. Had 10" of ice where I was, and a lot of large wheelhouses were being pulled out there.  Yesterday someone drove a Jeep out to a wheelhouse close by.  I think we will see a lot more vehicles driving out in the next week.  Fortunately the added weight hasn't pushed much water on top of the ice.

I think the fourm would still be pretty strong....however when they split the fourm sites up & stuff and changed some things a few years ago it pretty much killed this site. Traffic is a crawl.....they blame it on new media like Facebook and other stuff......which is an excuse.....poor one at that.......the other ice fishing website I go to is stronger then ever.......This use to be my favorite site, today it's in sad shape & I only come because I remember what it once was hoping that it gets back to it someday.
