What's the fishing like in the river during July and August. I know it's not going to be like the spring and fall but we're looking at renting a cabin this summer and was wondering if the fishing in the river itself would be worthwhile. Mainly looking for walleyes. Sturgeon would be okay too.

Ya summer is an entirely different animal than the fall and spring. Springtime can verge on Big fish in a barrel easy when stars align and conditions are just right, like last spring!!

There are Walleye in the river all summer though and you will have miles of it to yourself as most folks are doing the lake.

Sturgeonfish are quite catchable and there is some good Smallie fishing availiable too.
