Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Just thought I'd start a new one rather than roll one over from this winter. Anybody been out there since the opener?

Was out tonight and got the big goose egg. Fished the point on the east side, the east side of the island, the midlake hump, and the reeds on the north end. Pulled spinners/crawlers, lindy rig/leech, and slip bobber with a leech. Anybody having any luck?

I don't think that's algae. There have been numerous reports of raw sewage overflowing into the lake over the past 12 months. I too noticed a green slimey sludge the only two times out this year and have decided to move to other "cleaner" lakes.

I'm no expert but I thought it was an algae bloom.... it was definitely thick! If it does happen to be sewage runoff I'd like to know about it! I remember last year when they had the toilet by the beach back up... they put up notice if i remember correctly... I would assume they would do the same again for the swimmers... thats why I don't believe it to be sewage runoff... my .02 worth.

The last problem was end of last year. When walking out to ice fish we noticed a lot of slush by shore, which we thought was a bit unusual. We discovered later it was a sewage leak.

I was out on independence on Friday night and caught one walleye and one northern, both very nice fish. I caught them both on a shad rap.

I'm not sure what the cause is but I've noticed the water clarity is much worse than usual. The outside weedline usually ends at 12-14 ft in previous years but it's at 6-8 ft this year. I've really noticed the poor clarity while using the Aqua Vu.

Eyemaster: Thanks for the info. Since the fish roam so much, I'm gonna change to a faster 'search bait' . Crankbaits may be just the ticket.

Was out there yesterday for a few hours in the late morning. Trolled leaches off of the hump and got nothing. Moved over to the shore line along the launch and trolled shad rap and got a 16" eye and a 26" Pike (approximately 5+ lbs) in about 10 minutes.

Water was like pea soup.
