Lakers by boat

3 posts in this topic

Ok, never had the opportunity to do this and we were discussing an adventure on our way to Lac Seul. "Hey, is there anywhere to fish lakers on the way to Ifalls" We were thinking of coming up a day early, and trying for lakers somewhere by boat.

Are we idiots? Is this reality, or possible, and where?

We usually spend the night in Ifalls before we cross the border and head to Lac Seul.

Well i think your best bet would be to stop in Duluth. Drop you rig into the big pond for the day. depending on what time of year you are heading to Lac Suel, your presentation may very. But fishing for lakers can be real good threw out the year. Plus,Lac Suel is only 7 hours away. Hope this helps!

I don't know of any inland laker water up that way. As cranken said you could try Superior. What time of year are you making your trip?

Its not safe. Stay off. Don't even walk out...so I can have all the fish to myself.

Made it out to North Center today by sunken island. Not very good, one perch. Marking them just not committing. Lots of water on ice, but ice is fine. 17 inches.    As far as north access, off Nelson road on east side there is an access. Put money in the box and don't be a Richard, I believe it is owned by a farmer and let's people use

Lake St Clair is a blast. If you hit vermilion at the right time it will be right up there with that. No reason you can't have a 100 fish day with a good chance at many big fish. Going by my phone pictures I had a great day on June 17 a few years back ha. Theres no shortage of rocky shorelines and docks. I'm a fan of tubes myself but I know guys love their senkos.    I'm sure you'll get some more specific responses. Wish I had more time to chase them myself
