wondering how much snow is on the lake. coming up next week wondering if u can get off of roads with truck

Just called up to morris point today cause we're heading there in the morning and they advised us to bring snowmobiles if we wanted to go off the roads much.

I wouldn't advise any offroad travel with anything other than a snowmobile. Was out there ten days ago and got stuck several times just to get a quarter mile from the main road; then the blizzard hit and the roads drifted shut. Went out the next day by snowmobile but couldn't go more than 10 mph because there were three foot drifts everywhere, packed hard as concrete. With a truck you'll drive on top for a few feet and then fall through, and then you're really stuck. Tough going until we get some warmer weather and those drifts melt down.

Had a friend who was up there this last weekend. Bablers have a new road plowed. LOTS of snow offroad (they got stuck). (Big time I guess) "Stay on the roads" was his advise...
