friday 2/29/08: leapday outing

6 posts in this topic

anybody available in the morning on Friday and interested in meeting up?

lakes under consideration: melissa, big detroit, sallie. Other options, big and little pine, pelican, big or little floyd, long (both of them), loon, lida.

I would like to catch some tullibees. perch and crappies are also ok. likely in the areas I'd like to fish you'd catch all three species.

so, any takers? If not interested fishing, anybody interested in snowmobiling at maplewood in the morning? I'd need to be back in DL betwen 100pm to 130 pm.

I'd be up for it in the afternoon on N. Lida if anyone is interested. I can't in the morning.... seems I have to make something of myself and go to school. Stupid school. I will also be out there on saturday, hopfully all day if anyone is going to be out.

perch, I went riding instead. I think I made the right choice. It was windier than all get out. When I was riding by the access at South Lida, all you saw was a white cloud from the blowing snow. I put on about 90 miles.

Leech, my experience exactly, I hated the thing! I'm a Mister Twister Piranha guy, it's a little heavier duty than the green ones but never had trouble with the green ones either over the many years I've used them. I can use a filet knife on those rare occasions we do a shore lunch somewhere.

Be cool if there was such a thing. Being people are getting so much more interest in pout it wouldn't be a bad thing I'd say.

I don't personally own a smmity sled but I've herd many great things about them.

I think some people are obligated to keep what they catch. Me I'll keep fish but not very often at least in the winter. (Not on Mille lacs) Mille lacs you have the chance at catching a trophy sure maybe it would be cool to keep it but for a lot of us letting a trophy go is as good as keeping it at least IMHO.
