Bass Fishing in spring

13 posts in this topic

Like Smallmouth Bass Fishing? You NEED to try Big Turtle Lake in Itasca County. It offers the best in Smallmouth Bass fishing in the county. I usually go just after the spawn in june, i'v never caught so many fish before.

I love the people that think bass ruin a lake. Something has to fill the role of eating baitfish and perch, and if fisherman are keeping the walleye and throwing back the bass I wonder which there'll be more of... It isn't like those fish haven't existed in a healthy balance for thousands of years prior to our arrival here...

Count me in,

And as a percentage rate the walleye population is being kept way more than the bass population IMO.

Nailed the Crappies last night in 2-3 feet of water!!   They were all 9-10" and skinny runts for the length.   All were catch n release and topped off with a 18 64/65th " bass at dark!!  it was as close as 19" you could go with out being 19" LOL   What a rush on 4 pound test

Sorry I forgot to put their phone #.  218-385-3385. Ask for Dan or Bonnie.   Hope this helps.

Leech, we're getting out feet wet then we can post within topics. Glem,  What will help you are trolling boards and rod holders.  I use a mast and main line board system but Inline boards work and a lot of guys use them and something for you to consider. Some stick baits to consider are Bombers, Brads, X Raps, Husky Jerks.  Spoons- Jim's Flashbacks, Moonshine.  Patterns/Colors- Pink, Purple, Monkey Puke, 57 Chevy, Pink Lemonade, Water Melon are just a few.  Superior is color specific like no other body of water so it pays to have a variety. Speed can also be critical in getting a strike and then you have to think about was it the rise or fall within the column that was responsible.   Last year you'd catch me at 3mph pulling sticks which isn't the norm.

Shorelander trailers are assembled right next door to Lunds. The serial # on the trailers are assigned a boat serial # after they are delivered.  All Lunds and Crestliners leave the factory on Shorelander trailers. With the exception of a dealer occasionally picking up just the boat itself.

Try giving Modern Assemblies in New York Mills, Mn a call.  They are the ones that built those seats for Lund. The can probably rebuild them for you to original. They do nice work at a reasonable price.
