lakeville minnesota but my buddy has a cabin on lake hubert and he does not fish much and i was going to bring him up there and show him how to fish but i would like to find a good spot so he can get hooked on fishing

i rember fishing there in the summer and i was infront of the girls camp where a sunken island is have you ever fished there

I've caught a number of decent Bass and Northern off that Island in the Summer, but never ice fished out there. I believe there is a decent weeded break off shore on ESE part of the lake, and a nice steep flat bottom break on the southern shore of the lake. Again though I've only fished there in the summer, and I was bass fishing.

yea there tens to be alot of bass in that lake

Remember, Hubert is a DNR designated "Catch and Release only" lake for bass.

Catch and release on all bass over 12", not all of them, is it not? I actually wish they would put it at 14" instead. I release all the bass I catch. I don't think I've kept one in 20 years. But that lake could stand to have some of those little ones harvested to help with the balance of things. It's hard NOT to catch those 10"ers out there!
