Find the food! Fish in this time of year are searching for food

they can range from as shallow as 7 FOW and as deep as 60 FOW. Drill some holes down a break and find those clouds of bait fish with a camera or vexlar.

Ive been catching perch on Ottertail in 45 feet. The bite is very sporadic at least where my house is. Seems to be best in the morning for perch and walleye.....at least thats my experience out there for the last couple of weeks.

Good Luck

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
