is there any day bite going? I'll "assume" the ice is O.K. to drive on, either way, I think I'll give Friday a try

Thanks, H

I was out there sunday with a buddy and his dad we got 15 crappies mix of white and black and 15 bull gills... Its lready a zoo out there this year compared to last year though.... just look for where the other groups of shacks are and fish on the edge of them... plenty of ice by the way probably 2 feet but it is very choppy ice due to the slushy early season ice.... there is a short road out to the middle of the lake from the south access...

I would suggest getting out there before noon since there is really no night bite due to the clarity of the lake...

Later,

Ryan

Was out on Saturday and the fishing was slow. Tried Cross for a couple hours and it was slow there too. It was really windy.

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
