is that faribault rental still there by hwy60 and hwy21, not sure if they would have one or not?? You could probably find someone on the ice willing to borrow one or drill you a couple holes at least, that is if you don't mind sitting on same spot all day. If i see some poor kid drilling a hole with a hand auger through 24" inches of ice, i'll go pop a few holes for him, man i don't miss those days.

I would borrow you mine but my cousin borrowed it last weekend.

I wonder if I will ever see it again?

I have to believe Reel Fishing and Tackle could help out...

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
