5 posts in this topic

I have an Garmin eTrex Legend hand held GPS. I want to buy and install a contour lake map program of Mille Lacs Lake. Does anyone have any recomendations or advice on the subject?

Minnesota LakeMaster by garmin. This will be what you need for the Etrex Legend. I have it on my Etrex Legend and my Emap. The really nice part is using the Lakemaster program on my laptop to just browse the lake looking for new spots to try.

That would be my recommendation. Mill Lacs is also one of the lakes that are high resolution detailed.

To see what it might look like go to Garmin's website and check their maps link and look for On the Water Maps. You'll find a viewer that will allow you to see the map detail. When you run the viewer click the Detail button on the lower right if you don't see the contours.

when i fish for pike or muskie i use 40-50lb braid and an 80# fluoro leader about 12" that I make myself...never had a bite-off and have reused leaders over and over again...oh, and have caught plenty with this set up

Should I look for the cats more in deep holes now or more in shallow by bridges etc. Don't want your spot just general info. I know they can be any where but I'm thinking deep? Also would fat heads be a good choice now.

Well my ice season ended, it was an extremely short year, with not alot of opportunity to get out. Still caught some good fish and had some good times with friends, enjoy the video!

I'very never heard of anyone getting into them.  But I do see them cutting the surface early morning or evening.  Might be able to get a few on a fly rod.
