I was wondering the same thing as I was going to head there Saturday evening with a little kid I am a mentor to and has never been ice fishing before and hope to ge thim on some fish. I have never fished there, so where does everyone go? I see there is a county park on the east side so is there an acess there. Is there a tent city like most lakes and go fish by them? Any info would be great, don't need to hotspot hoenyhole, just get aimed in the right direction. Thanks

I drove out there to the park on Saturday around 4pm but didn't go out on the lake as the landing looked real rough and deep with snow. I looked through the binocs and it looked like 1 perm shack across the lake to the WNW and about 5 the the SW near that long point or narrows, but no trucks were out there. Decided not to chance it and worry about getting stuck with no help out there and not knowing where to go on the lake. No sense on risking it.

A person always needs to assess the risk/effort being worth the "prize" & you're gut feeling is usually right. Sounds like you made the right choice, fishing is fun & perch are tasty, but....

Well I know many of you are not going to believe me but I went out side (I have no clue why) and looking in the grass and saw what looked like a bunch of small twigs. Well they weren't sticks they were night crawlers! I grabbed a bucket and was able to grab 8 of them that was the first time I've got any for a long time so I missed a lot as I was way too slow went out a few minutes ago and there was none. I got them all around 7pm. Texted buddys and none of them believed me a few pictures turned that around. They all went looking and they found none must have been my area the hot spot maybe? Not really ice fishing related but its the middle of February not july finding some thawed dirt was a bit tricky either froze or mud after digging around I found some good stuff. Hoping the ice holds up and it will be safe for next weekend I'm going to have to try them for gills maybe. I've never used crawlers in the winter any of you? I've still got lots of waxes though. Now I fell I'm rambling but felt I had to share this!
