Collinwood Report Sat 1/26

4 posts in this topic

Fished Collinwood Sat all day. Fished five different spots saw walleye on the cam on every spot but they just sniffed and away they went. Most action was watching a big dogfish taking a shot at my cam. Threw everything we could at hem all caught was a little perch and had a bob go down while I was screwing around with the tippy.

We could see 6-7 feet on the camera, probally the same down the hole, seems a lot more clear than it is in the summer

I have read that mercury levels are a reason there is no commercial harvest on vermilion. But it was probably the same thing you read as I have not found a second source of that. There is commercial harvest of rustys on other Minnesota lakes so there must be a reason it's not done here.    For or what it's worth, the DNR has suggestions on how much fish to eat because of mercury.
