Minnetonka bite

2 posts in this topic

Just wondering where would be a good place to start on Minnetonka. First time I fished there this year, going out tomorrow night. Any tips of crappie or eyes would be helpful. No one's honey hole, just some tips. Thanks guys.

I have caught them on Vermilion when the mayflies are hatching in the evening by using a fly rod with small poppers or may fly type dry flies. Just cast to the surfacing fish. A spinning rod with an Adjusta Float with poppers or flies may work even better. Cliff

I have also wondered why there are no Sauger in Vermilion. I have never caught one there or heard of one being caught by anyone else. Cliff

Thanks for the report MNfan.  Too bad fishing wasn't better for you. Good weather at least. Nice to get out this time of year.

They eat little bitty stuff.   But them and whitefish should be catchable in summer.  They are eating after all.
