mine was a 51" and my buddy's was a 54"

The hunt was $5500 Included everything but getting there. We had 4 guys go together so we drove there. I would say home to home was less than $6000. All four of us got our moose. You can shoot anything but we all shot bulls. There was oone guy from MI. on this hunt had 4 chances under 100yrds and blew them all. The owner finally said he was done and not to come back. So, in all we were 7 for 8, 7day hunt. Great outfitter. YOu cruise the rivers in the boat, very easy hunt.

huntingmaxima -- sounds like you had a great hunt !!, if poss. could you get me some info. for your outfitter. I need to get the fire started or else i will never go. I dont personally know anybody that has went moose hunting recently so i am looking for some GOOD outfitters. Finding the right outfitter ( one you can trust ) is 1/2 the battle. If poss. you could e-mail info to me at garynmarti@msn.com thanks gary

I've got a 53" ski...41"pike and an accidental 22" smallie on V. I have caught a 31" eye but not on vermilion.  Id  like to get a 30 out of there.

Sunday was more of the same.  Morning bite was strong than waining midday.  Isaac and I managed 30 more walleye sunday morning before heading home. Our biggest for sunday 27" 8lb 4oz.  We caught 6 fish over 23" sunday, (2)23, 24  , (2)26, 27.   River is now open past Wheelers point.

There's still driveable ice in the Ely area.

We were fishing tip-ups for pike and jigging spoons for perch over by Terry's the last few weeks. There were quite a few perch in the 3-10" range. Sometimes we had ten marks on our screens at once. They were in shallow, 6-8', and the big pike were chasing them.   Also, Rocky Reef had some pockets where the perch were thick this winter. Those tended to be in 11-16'.    I still think the perch are in there, but they're difficult to find under the ice.   Get the boat out there and idle around side-scanning for baitfish pods, kand you'll see a lot of what look like perch schools.

White Sand had 12 inches last Monday when I fished it.  ice cracked and began shifting a few days ago.  Interesting year as ice is still tight to shoreline, but some of those cracks that developed a few days ago are up anywhere from a foot to 5 feet wide now.      I'm done. was hoping to hit N.Long one last time but not worth the risk anymore.
