I plan to pull into the gas station or the way side rest at Independance at between 6 and 6:15 in the morning. If you guys are going through at that time, give me a shout on chanel 7 or on my cell. 218-591-5121

If the group plans on being going past there at a differant time, post it here and I will check in the morning and arrive accordingly.

I will have the black 4 door F150 with an 18 foot V front maroon wheel house.

Lisa, just remember that people seen in online forums appear smaller than they actually are, just like in the passenger side mirror of your truck. grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

Ken, if you hold up a laker and look at it through the passenger side mirror on your Blazer, I GUARANTEE it will look smaller than it really is. grin.gifgrin.gif

I've got a 53" ski...41"pike and an accidental 22" smallie on V. I have caught a 31" eye but not on vermilion.  Id  like to get a 30 out of there.

Sunday was more of the same.  Morning bite was strong than waining midday.  Isaac and I managed 30 more walleye sunday morning before heading home. Our biggest for sunday 27" 8lb 4oz.  We caught 6 fish over 23" sunday, (2)23, 24  , (2)26, 27.   River is now open past Wheelers point.

There's still driveable ice in the Ely area.

We were fishing tip-ups for pike and jigging spoons for perch over by Terry's the last few weeks. There were quite a few perch in the 3-10" range. Sometimes we had ten marks on our screens at once. They were in shallow, 6-8', and the big pike were chasing them.   Also, Rocky Reef had some pockets where the perch were thick this winter. Those tended to be in 11-16'.    I still think the perch are in there, but they're difficult to find under the ice.   Get the boat out there and idle around side-scanning for baitfish pods, kand you'll see a lot of what look like perch schools.

White Sand had 12 inches last Monday when I fished it.  ice cracked and began shifting a few days ago.  Interesting year as ice is still tight to shoreline, but some of those cracks that developed a few days ago are up anywhere from a foot to 5 feet wide now.      I'm done. was hoping to hit N.Long one last time but not worth the risk anymore.
