WILDERNESS WARMTH ICE REPORT

1 post in this topic

Lets start with the ice! We now have all our roads open which go to to Kings Hump, Little Kings Hump, Kings Finger, Horseshoe, Sunken Boat and Spirit Island. The ice is 15 inches to 20 inches in all the structures. There are still some hidden pockets of slush and water off the roads but it is becoming hard to find but please as always check before driving off the roads. The roads have over 18 inches to 24 inches of ice and are in good shape. We still recommend only 15MPH maximum speed to protect the ice!! Thanks.

Thanks.  We sadly have caught bigger but didn't get them on video.  Average size this trip was around that 18.5-19" mark.  We got really excited because a few of them were 21" and the state record is only 20.5 or 20.75" but the state record had a girth of 6+ inches!  that fish had to be THICK!  Was a ton of fun and I can't wait to get them from the smoker on Friday!
