Reel Repair

4 posts in this topic

I have a couple of stradics that are about 6 years old and need a good cleaning, lube, maybe a couple of replacement parts. Is there any place in the metro I can take these to?

Thanks Gang!

Check out Gary Wicks at Gary's Custom Rod & Reel. Tell him Dave Parks from North Metro Muskies sent you.

Gary only charges $14.50 per reel to clean (might give you a deal on two). Good honest person to work with. He is located in Anoka.

I have read that mercury levels are a reason there is no commercial harvest on vermilion. But it was probably the same thing you read as I have not found a second source of that. There is commercial harvest of rustys on other Minnesota lakes so there must be a reason it's not done here.    For or what it's worth, the DNR has suggestions on how much fish to eat because of mercury.
