I think Daddyducker has a thread running on this already... with no real response.

Ya been trying to find something out on ice conditions...I can catch fish all over that lake but last year there was a massive "black-hole" of open water for the first part of the year. I prefer to drive the truck out cause it's a walk to where I usually go. Don't really want to be driving out there if that hole has come back,...or moved!!

I haven't had time to get up there, and when I do I want to be able to take the day and fish that particular lake.

"IF" you make it out, let me know how the ice is PLEASE. I like to fish the island, and that's where the open water was.

I took my kids for a monticello outing yesterday, but my boy spiked a fever on the way so I had to abort mission.  Tried a little shorefishing at home this afternoon in Brooklyn Park. I tried spoons, jerkbaits and ringworms. No action.

Heading to Grand rapids on Wed. Any chance a guy can drive back in the woods with a car??

Palmer lake is good for sunfish (and it's kind of a pond), but it's been getting hammered this winter. I'm worried about the pressure it's been getting. I wouldn't mention it here, but word is clearly out already. There are a lot of great options to try around Eagan. That's where I do most of my pond fishing.  I live in Brooklyn Park now and have had a tough time finding good fishing in ponds/little lakes up this way. Might have to give the clay hole a try
