Naw, didn't you know that she was "in charge" in that fish house? I never got to set the hook at all!

Cliff, you finally made it down to our end of the lake!  Did anybody catch a walleye?  I'm not totally turned off by them, I'll still stop by for a snack or drink...or both. You can't beat the setting - sitting out on the deck!

Today the Lake Vermilion Guides League held an ice fishing day for 35 5th and 6th graders from the Cook area at the Landing. The Landing very graciously hosted this group of kids for us. I found the owners to be very friendly and happy to be a part of the kids outing! I would not hesitate to stop in there for a meal or drink if I get in that area again! Cliff

I was on an Annandale area lake yesterday with only about 9" of ice which was getting rotten and black in places. The lake had 15" of clear ice and I was driving a Silverado on it a week earlier. There were quite a few areas where water had drained though cracks and opened up fist-sized holes within the crack.   All in all, the lake was perfectly safe for walking and more than likely not rotten or thin enough to make it unsafe for ATVs at this point. The landing was is pretty good shape, all things considered, but if one were to put an ATV in the drink, that'd be where it'd happen.
