I was thinking about Caribou, but am open to other options. I am looking for the walleys, northerns, or perch.

Caribou is a good spot to start. When I was up over New Years the ice was iffy. Ab out 2 inches of crusty snow, 8" of slush and maybe 6-10" of iffy ice. the ice was NOT consistant either. They've gotten more snow since then and thats insulating even this cold snap we're getting. So test the ice as you go and be careful.

If you want to up the Gunflint, Elbow lake has some eye' in it. Again, same type of ice.
