Don't worry! I've stayed in Pat's shacks the last several times, and will be staying there in March as well. He'll put you on fish. Just stayed up there Thur- Sun of last week and did well. He'll check in with ya each morn. and sometimes afternoon to see how you're doing, (and even move ya if needed). Just make sure your shack has a seal club! I've got pix on my website if interested.

I have also stayed with Pat Foster and have had a very good experience each and everytime. Pat knows the lake well and goes out of his way to keep his clients on fish. I will definetly go through him again. Have fun!

Pat's old school and doesn't think much of computors. If he's on a hot bite he likes to have no one know about it except his customers and maybe his dog. Pat, Buddy Hillman and us all work together. When you see Pat give him a big hug and kiss from me and tell him you "love him like a brother". grin.gif

I'll second a thumbs up for Club Red and Pat Foster. He runs a good show, works hard and stays mobile.

Ditto, Pat is a great guy, you have nothing to worry about... except those whiskered things, but if you bring a beach ball they might stay and play????????

I am awaiting the day that Pat Foster, puts me on a whole school of HOG Walleye on Erie!!!!!!

I heard that Pat is running short on seal sticks this year! First year up with Kelly I got the whole story about those seals that come up the holes. Bring a step stool so you can get up off the floor of the shack and bat at them with the seal sticks.

From what I hear, Club Red is a good outfit.

One thing to carefull of around Foster tho. If he finds out you have any Miller along he will not leave. Hangs around your door just like a stray dog. grin.gif

I always see Pat driving around when I am up there......either he gets lost or he doing a good job of checking on his rentals and finding the hot bite.....I always have assumed that he is doing the later of the 2!! LOL

Just make sure that you keep the door open a crack so you can get out when one of those whiskers comes up the hole, and don't try to kick them back in the hole! Have you seen their teeth when they "smile" at you??

Quick question about the DNR launch on the very north end of Big Sauk in Sauk Centre. Is there ample parking? Also, is the launch in good shape? Too steep? Too shallow? I plan to go up this weekend with a 16 ft deep V.   Any fishin reports or water condition reports are welcomed too :-)   Thanks in advance!!

pretty neat that the train went over.

Was out opening weekend walleye fishing. Caught walleyes in 10 -12 ft slow trolling minnows. Looked like the spawn was over and this coming weekend should be much better. Water was 55 degrees in the area I was in and didn't  get any other species.

Good evening hooked up as a non resident you are allowed one walleye between the sizes mentioned per day no matter what license you posses. As others have stated, the smallness should be off their beds and the walleyes will be transitioning to the deep water reefs. Wind blown points or current are always good places to start.

I'm not a big bass chaser, but last year I started tossing senkos rigged wacky around rock piles and docks and did pretty well on Smallies.  Green Pumpkin color seemed to work the best.    Stay away from white bouys, they mark hazards..... Unless you are creeping up on them with your trolling motor to pitch senkos on top of the rock pile.  I'll be on Trout Lake June 7-10 so if you want to text me when you get up to Vermilion I can give you a report on how it went for us.   Lots of resorts on Vermilion rent 25 HP fishing boats.     matt 612-868-1282

Boat traffic isn't all that bad, there's a million places to escape it on that lake anyway. Bugs are usually pretty bad that time of year, and we've had a pretty wet spring so far also. But they're not an issue out on the water. You can launch at a different access each day, and it'll be like being on a completely different lake.

      Thats a great view

This time of year inside weedlines with sand have been good historically.  Find some cabbage and you should be golden.   Those walleyes could show up here and there on cranks in that 10 foot range too.

I do not fish bass very often but have had good luck using straight braided line for bass and walleye. Very few bugs out on the water! Shore bugs usually only out in the late evenings. Very few jet skis and water skiers on most of Vermilion most of the time. Weekend Holidays can see a lot of traffic. Some one else will surely answer your bass bait questions ! Tons of rusty crayfish in the East end that the bass love! Cliff
