Has the lower limits affected area lakes?

1 post in this topic

I have read the posts concerning spraying for weeds on washington, fish size getting smaller, ect.. and it got me thinking a little.

I should first clarify, I'm a C&R guy to the core. I only take a few fish a year for a couple meals, and the rest go back!

Has the lower limits contributed to the size ratio? With less fish being taken out is it possible that they're is just to many?

Or has it improved size and/or qty?

What are your thoughts? Any discusion?

We have a few lakes in my area (new ulm) that have gone thru a decline in size, as has washington. Any thoughts?

I've had my boat freeze in the lake before.  Not fun chiseling it out before winter.  Heading up this weekend for one last soft water trip, unless the water temps are still warm and I dare leave the boat in for deer hunting.

I've been caught with a boat of snow more than once.  I'll be up there fishing at least a couple more weekends before I pull the plug on open water.  I've still had pretty decent luck every weekend, but the method I caught them has changed most every weekend.  I've caught them on lead core, rigging with large minnows, and jiggin raps.  I already can't wait until spring!
