Any tricks to catching crappies right now??

I can find them, and they are thick in the vex but the catching part has been tough.

Any time of the day better than others?

Minnows?

Waxies?

...and NO you don't need to catch them for me too.

Thanks for any info!

Is there any size out there, or are they all about what I have been catching?

No doubt they are there, and a week or two ago the 12 inchers were aggressive, now the bite has really slowed, I live across the street from Pleasant so I fish it quite a bit and when I was out there over there this past weekend a small crappie minnow on a plain hook worked if you had a lot of patience, otherwise I did get some by trying many different holes and jigging with a very small jigging rap.

Good Luck !!

I haven't been on Pleaant but the others lakes with a very tough bite the plastics fished horizontally and finessing the heck out of them have put more fish on the ice for me than either minnows or waxies. The smaller Ratsos or nuggies have been working best for me.

Good Luck!

I have two Vexilar transducers.    1) Thru hull/trolling motor- used.  From FL8 2) New never used, high speed.       I looked on Vexilar's site, The one's they sell say FL8 or FL18.  Checked FAQ and they look like they are interchangeable with other models???  Can text pictures-what do you have?

Grindstone is stocked in the spring, I think also in the fall. Many trout survive a 2nd and 3rd year.

I caught a bunch years ago and they were just fine. Fried hem up back then.  They have a dandy flavor.  I have a bunch more that I froze and will throw some in the peanut oil soon.
