My buddy and I are thinking of a day trip over to Walker Bay. We were wondering how the bite has been and what time of day seems to be the best. We will be targeting perch and walleye's any info will be a help.Thank you

We have been catching 3-5 a night around 5 pm. The feeding window is getting shorter and shorter. We are deeper 32fow. I have heard of better and worse from people at the store.

For Perch, go out to grand view flats / Goose Island. Seems that there isn't really a perch bite anywhere right now but you should get a few if you work for em.

there is a mess being created out there ladies and gentleman. Be careful. Slush is sneaky. It looks like March out on the ice, not January. Deep slush and standing water, tricky conditions for vehicles and people. Saw a lot of flooded houses today in four mile bay.    Fishing for our group was the same as it's been all season. So Slow It Hurts.   But it sure was fun to be able to fish outside.    On a side note, I picked up nearly a dozen boards left behind from wheelhouses. With all this water and slushy conditions, I agree boards are needed. Just please take them with you or chisel them out. These things can cause a lot of damage to some expensive equipment come open water....

I feel like every time I ice fish in the rain the fish are going nuts...Went out today on a lake in the Duluth area and just pounded the crappies and gills(100+fish)..All the gills were 8-9" and the crappies were 10-12"... Best bait was a glow majum jig with a glow plastic...
