Angle - what's up?

4 posts in this topic

Haven't heard much on what's going on at the Angle. We're coming up in 2 weeks. Any info on ice conditions, fish action, depth, colors, etc?

This is our 6th year going out of Jakes and can't wait to get up there!

Jeff

Just spent 6 days up there over Christmas and New Years, the fishing has been fantastic in the Islands area. Lots of quality fish caught and a ton of sauger as well. The bite was good right of the bat in the morning and then steady througout the day. Talked to one group of guys by Oak who caught 30 nice fish before 10:00 a.m. one morning so everything is looking great up there! Have a good trip grin.gif

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
