Moody Lake?

3 posts in this topic

Does anyone know this lake it is up east of the Forest Lake area. I used to fish this lake as a kid and was wandering what the fishing is like at that lake now for crappies. Send me an e-mail if you have any info on this lake I will probably go and try it again. wdgold@integra.net

Is this the one that was a private lake, with a little old man, that used to rent out 3-4 wooden boats...???

I don't know about that but as a kid we use to get some nice big crappies out of there, sounds like there smaller now which seems typical for local lakes these days.

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
