First time out this winter

I talked the Mrs. into goin out on Willow yesterday afternoon/night (Saturday) to try catch something. As usual we catch nothing, but she will even admit being out after dark was fun. That and setting up the big ugly canvas monster was a treat too. We may give Foster's a try next time, since it's closer to home.

If you want to catch some fish you should go to Gamehaven pond. I was there on Friday and we caught 70 sunfish in about 2 hours. It was really fun even though most of the fish caught were small you could find some keepers. We were using Gill Pills tipped with a waxie.

how long of a trek is it to get from the parking area to the pond? I have heard it is a trek. Never been there.

If you access off from 45th St its probably about 1/2 mile.

You will see some red gates, just park on the side of the road and follow the trail. There is a hill to climb to get over the dam overflow. but its not as bad as KR7.

Good luck

Only thing I can add is was told the same thing (ACL) on my British lab.  She was hobbling about and surgery was the only option and would be 2-4 thousand.  I live in Grand Forks so the price is pretty standard.  I spoke to a friend who had a springer and was told the same and he rested her for a month.  We opted not to pursue surgery and kept her from running and jumping off the dock for a month and now you wouldn't know anything was wrong.  Had spoken to a few friends who have done the same and the dogs are all none the worse for the wear.  Just an option and I would have paid if it was life or death because I do like my dog
