Clear Lake near Flake

5 posts in this topic

Anyone know anything about Clear Lake south of FL. I was out there today. Fished deep water near south hump and up on hump in 5 FOW. Lots of lookers in the deeper water, no takers. Any advice on this one. That was the first time on the lake. Thanks all

I smell a skunk....whew!!

We were getting 8 to 10 inches pretty much everywhere. The snow was 3 to 6 with little or no slush.

Were you over the 5 foot hump in the middle of Clear lake? If so was the ice about 10 inches?

Matt

No, it was the hump closest to the launch to the south. (west side of lake) We didnt go out to the one in the middle. We had 8 to 10 in the whole area we were in. There were sleds and wheelers out in the middle. Dont know the ice conditions there. I am getting the idea that we should have went out there.... smirk.gif

I took my kids for a monticello outing yesterday, but my boy spiked a fever on the way so I had to abort mission.  Tried a little shorefishing at home this afternoon in Brooklyn Park. I tried spoons, jerkbaits and ringworms. No action.

Heading to Grand rapids on Wed. Any chance a guy can drive back in the woods with a car??

Palmer lake is good for sunfish (and it's kind of a pond), but it's been getting hammered this winter. I'm worried about the pressure it's been getting. I wouldn't mention it here, but word is clearly out already. There are a lot of great options to try around Eagan. That's where I do most of my pond fishing.  I live in Brooklyn Park now and have had a tough time finding good fishing in ponds/little lakes up this way. Might have to give the clay hole a try
