How to rig Lowrance 522C for Ice Fishing

3 posts in this topic

Earlier this year I purchased a Lowrance 522C igps GPS/Sonar unit for my boat. Now I'd like to use it, with the Lakemaster chip I bought and installed, for ice fishing.

Mainly I'd like to use the map to get to my desired location. I don't really need to use it as a sonar because I trust the map information as to location and "normal water level" depth. I can confirm the depth, and mark fish with the Vexilar.

I checked the Lowrance site and they have an accessory pack, including battery, charger, case, and transducer for $175. That's more than I'd like to spend. Does anyone know of a cheaper way to rig it to suit my needs?

Thanks.

My dad has a Eagle, and we are thinking of doing the same thing. We are thinking a Motorcycle batterie might work. Then just make a cheap cloth tacle box work.Just a idea!

at cabelas they have a plastic base and a cloth wrap that they use to make there brand of flasher. 20$ 4 each and 20 for the battery. its a tight fit but it does work well. I found a power cable in the bargan cave for 20 $ so i didnt have to use the one off the boat.
