I measured 13" everywhere I drilled the last few days but anywhere from 2-4" on top is white and crappy. The fishing was not good. I got 3 walleyes and they were tiny. tried for panfish as well and got zero. Oh, 1 eye on rocks and 2 in the weeds if that helps. Snow is getting deep! I will spend my time on more producyive lakes before I try fish lake again.

Anyone know if they are driving on the lake? Has anyone plowed? With the depth of snow and some physical limits its getting hard to walk. Was there a ton of people out. I drove by McMahon the other day and it was packed.

Thank you, good luck and be safe.

I love these fish! The attitude is always fun and they taste great. The strip of y bones can be cut right out with a little effort.    I know where I'll be early in the morning May 13th with topwaters and swimbaits!

Grubens did permits the 2016 season. Fortune bay stopped writing BWCA permits the end of the 2015 season. Sally retired and that ended the permits at the bay.  Some day we will be able to buy permits on line and print them.

The video shown in the link posted above shows most of the fish they're handling going back because they're not ready or too green. The video was from 4/14 so I would bet they are done as that was 1 1/2 weeks ago. Cutfoot was done in less than a week. Cliff will be able to tell you for sure when then finished but I'd guess they were done by the end of last week.
