Has anyone been venturing out to the east end reefs around Blueberry Island? How are the ice conditions?

HI CAPTIAN,

ICE IS POOR AT BEST YET, WE HAVE 2" TO 12" OF ICE, LIGHT FREEZE, HEAVY SNOW...POOR ICE., HOWEVER WITH THAT BEING SAID

FISHING IS STILL GOOD, FISHED THE OTHER DAY FOR 2 HOURS, AND CAUGHT A NICE LIMIT OF WALLEYES, NICE PERCH, SOME NORTHERNS.

I LIKE TO BE CAREFUL TELLING FOLKS ABOUT HOW GREAT THE ICE IS, I'D RATHER BE ON THE SAFE THEN SAYING EVERYTHING IS EXCELLENT & SOMEONE ENDS GOING SWIMMING OR WORSE., WHERE I WAS THERE WAS 10" OF GOOD ICE & NO SLUSH. BUT THAT SAME NIGHT 2 OF MY BUDDIES WERE IN SAND BAY, 3 HITS WITH A CHISEL & WENT THRU. SO THATS WHY I SAY 2" TO 12".

SINCERELY,

FISHMEISTER
