i am coming down to the cities for christmas eve tomarrow and my dad lives right by grays bay and in the past have noticed houses out in the middle of the bay. what are these people targeting out there? i would like to come down a few hours early and find an area for some crappies or bluegills that has a reasonable walk out distance, any help would be appreciated.

thanks snag, any tips on were to start? i own a gps but i will only have a few hours to fish and want to make the most of it (i would prefer not to spend all day trying to figure out were fish are then have to leave), would i want to stay right on the break, would i want to fish right in the middle of the hole, i noticed on my lowrance there is a small hump that goes from around 24 feet to fifteen is that worth a shot? any advice at all for the gills and crappies in this spot would be appreciated, if anybody has a hard time posting that kind of info on here shoot me an e-mail at bearbait87@yahoo.com, not looking for a new honey hole, just looking for a spot to ice a couple fish while im in town. thanks

Who wants to fish in the dark, best thing about Vermilion is the ability to catch walleyes during bankers hours.  I would recommend looking into one of the private rentals on the lake (VRBO, etc.), most will have a private dock and offer more privacy.

Hey Bob,   We are coming up this weekend, fishing for the entire day on Saturday the 21st.  Osakis has been on my radar as have a few of the chain lakes, however with it being so long since I have fished in the area, I just wanted to see if there were any other suggestions for a decent multi-species lake or at least one with a chance for having a respectable crappie - walleye combo.   We also have been looking into Mary, Ida, Irene and Oscar.
