Thinkin about tryin goin outa morris this weekend.. anybody been in that area at all? Are people taking vehicles out of morris yet? or is it still resriscted to ATV and Snowmobile travel? I was at zipple on tuesday and was very dissapointed.. only catching 4 all day..

I JUST HEARD LAST NIGHT THAT THEY ARE NOT LETTING TRUCKS GO YET AT MORRIS BUT IF YOU WANT TO FISH MORRIS JUST TAKE ADRIAN'S ROAD WHEN U HIT THE LAKE HEAD WEST ITS NOT THAT ROUGH

I will be leaveing for Morris pt realy early in the morning I talk to Morris yesterday and they hoped the road would be open this week end I have big wheel house and they said they would let me pull it out with my wheeler but I can't have many obstacales in my way pulling a 8x27 wheelhouse with a 4 wheeler can be a challange so anyone Know what the road looks like I don't know where Adrians RD is how would I get there if I was to go out there.

Well we were out of Morris point on 12/16-12/19 very slow fishing for use. we did get a few the second day like four each {six of use}. but got one keeper on the last day

the biggest wally keeper was 18.5" saugar 15.5" The weather was great warm some wind No trucks on the lake Ice was 12"-24" I would think the trucks would be going out this week but I would call first .Fatheads were the best most caught on small jigs .Hope this Helps

      Seeing it's only your second year find buddy to go with as rock said. I even bring a second set of dry clothes and footwear. I am to big mess with thin ice I need 6 inches as rick said early varies so much so some where there is half as much ice.    Safety gear check include ice cleats as i have seen enough broken arms happen. Check your gear test the vexilar hook it up and turn it on to see if it runs or just hook up the charger. I use the drill plate so I charge all my batteries and with blade protecter on I make sure it works. My little sled is ready to haul my gear.    I go light during early ice so fill so fill up my plactics container and restock my jig boxes. Make sure my set ups have new line and pick my favorite set ups to take with. I can add some photos later

      Lets say you have 1.5 ah batteries now and you drilled one and a half holes per battery. Unless that ice was 50' thick, have dull blades and your auger is 8, or bigger that's not a drill you want to put more money into.  So give us some info on your auger and how many in lbs of torque is your drill?
