Anyone know the results from the Ice Team event on lakes Henry/Agnes in Alexandria last weekend? Weights, species and # of teams.

The fishing was for 8 Gills and 8 Crappie each day. Winning team bagged 10.6 pounds for 32 fish. In general small fish, with a few going close to a pound.

Winning duo from New York. There's a little blurb in the Echo Press today.

Originally, I had quite an issue with this whole thing - not to mention the effects 4800 harvested fish might have.

ON THE FLIP SIDE, these people actually ran a nice program. Not your typical ice fishing event like some. No trash (cig butts or otherwise), no pee stains, no dead fish up top (at least none that I've found). They must pickup all of their spent bait, 'cause no crows in their absence. There's more holes than a new tax law and wheel tracks to match, and with the 3" of water we had under the snow, those little reminders will be with us for the season.

All in all, nice of them to stop - good of them to leave.

Fished Cannon lake this evening. I bounced around from 12-5ft of water and started to mark fish in 8ft so I set up there until dark. I saw a bunch of fish come in for a look but not one nibble. Tried every color and style spoon and jig I had but nothing.

Best thing you can do if you won't be around is to put the house on fresh ice, don't drill any holes, and put it on blocks.  When people get into trouble is if it gets windy and they have open holes under the house, that rain starts blowing around on top of the ice, and starts swirling down into the holes under the house....that swirling water EATS ice, and can sink a house pretty quick.     As as far as the ice on the lakes, if you have 14-15 inches of good ice like most places around, you'll have no worries if you do what is posted above.

Rented a sleeper out on Garrison Bay Sunday night with some friends. Fishing was slow but we managed a few walleyes. Best went 23" on the rattle reel. Was a lot of fun though, wish the bite could have been better. How is everyone else doing out there? Any good bites or has it pretty much slowed down for everyone.     Here is a video of the trip:
