weekend report

2 posts in this topic

Me and a buddy went out to pelican sat. afternoon. Managed to get a 4 lb. northern, a rock bass and 2 walleye 15-17 in. Caught the walleyes just b4 dark, between 4 and 5. Wish we could have stayed for more but had to head out cuz we were fishing outside with no light. measure about 11 inches of ice. How did everyone else do?

Fished Franklin 12/15. Ice was good and clear about 8-9 inches. Fishing was slow in 13-15 fow. Only caught a couple pound to 1 1/2 northern. Lots of flooding though....about 10 inches of snow on top.

I'm hoping the snow they are forecasting shows up. Because then it's on for sure.    Put new glass on the light weight .223 so I don't have to carry the heavy target weight gun around. Just not practical where I hunt to have a 300yard gun. A 150yard gun will do just fine.    When you cary a shotgun and a rifle on almost every stand a few extra pounds can add up in a hurry.    Good luck tonight moose

Twin is pretty deep. One of the last to freeze over in most years.    I wasnt home yesterday evening to see if any more kids went through the ice.    I will did the spud out and see how thick  it is by shore tomorrow.

We wait until the snowmobile club stakes the trail before going through the narrows.
