Madison, duck slow and small

3 posts in this topic

Myself and a buddy fished Church bar on Madison to see what was in the area and had one bite in two hours, moved to duck where we caught about 12 smaller crappies, I thought the crappies would have grown they have been the same size for three years

Same size for the last 10 years. There are some bigger ones out there but they sure seem to hide pretty good all winter.

We had one report of an 11" last weekend and the rest were smaller on Duck.

Most of our fish came on minnows under bobbers. I spooked countless fish with even subtle jigging.

I never made it out Monday was too tired from fishing Friday - sunday didn't feel like getting up early

Hey, Here a quick update on actual ice thickness or snow cover on trout. 14 inchs of ice pressure ridge out there. if you are  on a snowmobile if traveling fast on it watch for it. Truck or car i do not recommend on trout with pressure ridge. And yes i have been on the whitefish chain this year in truck. just not on trout. just my 2 cents
