blue lake

6 posts in this topic

I am thinking about going to blue lake this weekend up in zimmerman, but I don't think I can trust the ice yet. If anybody knows any ice conditions on it that would be helpfull.

You may want to ask the question in the East Central Lakes forum. I think a few of the guys over there can get you some feedback.

I would place ice around 4" on blue. I would wait until weekend until you venture out on this lake. I figure we are making ice every night and with the snow fall up here, anything goes.

I have found the lakes around my area do not fit in any forum area on this site. I should write the Mod.'s about this.

I have been checking this area and East area for updates and questions on the lakes in my area (Princeton on over to St. Francis, up to Ogilvy). It would be nice to have a forum for the many lakes in this area people fish.

Ah well!

I agree shackbash their are not really any forums in this area,Used to be on the east lake one but that has changed for some reason.Would be nice to see a forum more about this area maybe thet could call it just short of the big pond forum.

I too think we need a new forum for lakes in our area. I live by the Refuge in Orrock and don't really travel to the Buffalo and west on 55 lakes. If I wanted to drive that far I can hammer eyes on the big pond instead!

I find postings about these area lakes in East central, this forum and St. Cloud.

I never have questions about them, but I can help others who do. I just have to find out where they are posting.

Maybe its for the better. We might flood these lakes with F.M. lurkers grin.gif

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
