I know there's a lot of good information floating around on this topic in the Ice Fishing forum too. However, hopefully you get some solid information closer to home with your first post here in the SC forum.

      Great stuff guys

The lakes took a beating and I was not out on Sunday to see the damage. Saturday I saw the first 4 to 5 inches turn soft. Be careful and check the ice conditions

Sometimes you need em that size.      You guys did push me over the edge so I had to go out Sunday afternoon.  Thanks for that.

I was going to try to go tomorrow (walking out in metro) despite the rain which appears to be light and I have a portable. Are you concerned about the ice conditions deteriorating throughout the day?  Or just for the rest of the week?
