pheasants?

5 posts in this topic

Hello everyone, looking to go out and so some Pheasant hunting and was wondering if anyone has had any luck?

New to the area, any help would be great. Thinking about just following Hwy 55 west and hiting spots?

Thanks anyway, I'll be coming thru there so I'm sure I'll run past it. Theres some stuff one can walk and not need a dog. Just gotta look for it. Sure is easier and funner with one though.

X2 for the big minnow net.  I got mine at Wally world or FF for $5.  Bend the wire frame to fit.

You posted this on Friday so I don't know if by "next Saturday" you meant the 14th or this coming Saturday the 21st.    Osakis might be worth a look. Perhaps the Alex chain (Victoria, Geneva, LeHomme Dieu, Carlos, Darling.

I agree. Completely careless! My uncle could have died...  It broke though he said the ice was to the hood of the truck. He crawled out the window... The window was level to the ice.... He stood up turned around and he said "All I could see was the cab. I watched it for about ten seconds and then it sank." He is extremely lucky to be alive. He still likes ice fishing but he walks on now.

Fished 2 1/2 weeks solid for NP, and panfish.  Found lots of bites on larger suckers, but almost all were dropped.  Gold and silver shiners were preferred by all sizes.  Usually get the bigger ones on 4-8 suckers.

I can't tell if it has a second dorsal fin or not based on those pictures, it could be laid down onto the back. But from the looks of it to me, I think its a Brook Silverside. We sample these in central MN streams and the Mississippi River. If you were in Wright County, definitely within its known range. Just a thought based on the picture
