Duck hunting partner can't go...empty spot in my boat south of St Cloud

3 posts in this topic

Evening all...

I'm just putting this out there - my buddy can't duck hunt with me tomorrow morning. We saw more ducks this morning than I've seen all season and I figure why go by myself in the morning if somebody else wants to come.

I'm no expert, not a pro caller by any means, can shoot straight 75% of the time, got a boat on a 40 acre pound, have 2 dozen duck decs and 8 goose decs, and have killed ducks all 12 mornings I've been out this season and the occasional goose every now and then - but like any hunting, I'm not guaranteeing anything! grin.gif We'll hunt till around 10...or whenever if they are still flying like they were today.

Anyone want to go tomorrow morning?

I'm 5 miles south of St Augusta on Cty Rd 7. You'd need to be to my house by 6:00 at the latest. Call my house phone..320-203-7319

Ryan

That's great of you to put out an invite.

Good luck in the a.m.

Spot filled!

I knew it...15 minutes after I posted this, my partner called and said he could go.....then I got a call from my post and he's joining us, now if only the ducks will cooperate and we all get some shooting in!

See you in the AM Kevin!

I like to sacrifice larger shiners just for their scales.  Ill take my thumb nail and work em off in the hole and a big cloud of scales slowly make their way down.  Ive never been a fan of a pile of dead minnows under my hole.

Fished today from 23ft-33ft. Moved 8 times. 3 guys. 2 fish. Thus far.... Case anyone else who prefers an honest report cares to hear one.   75+yrs experience with 40+ on this lake during winter. For whatever its worth.

Has anyone been out the past couple of days and if so how is travel across the lake? Cam u get most anywhere with a 4x4 pickup?

You might be able to get away with one and half minnows at a time, but no more.... lol

My experiences would suggest, R&D  resort on Straight Lake and Eagles landing on 5th crow wing.
