Red Wing Dam

3 posts in this topic

Guys,

Any news on the Red Wing Dam? I haven't seen much talk about it. Is the water real high? I was thinking about giving it a try tomorrow. What are the thoughts out there? Does anyone have a water temp reading? Should I go or not go?

I'm not sure about near the Dam but 58-60 degrees in the main pool about 4 days ago and the water is up a couple of feet or so... Not many boats out in this area... Tight Lines

I have caught them on Vermilion when the mayflies are hatching in the evening by using a fly rod with small poppers or may fly type dry flies. Just cast to the surfacing fish. A spinning rod with an Adjusta Float with poppers or flies may work even better. Cliff

I have also wondered why there are no Sauger in Vermilion. I have never caught one there or heard of one being caught by anyone else. Cliff

Thanks for the report MNfan.  Too bad fishing wasn't better for you. Good weather at least. Nice to get out this time of year.
