Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Your thoughts of this weeks game

With the viking on a wining streak, (1) AP coming off a great game, T-Jack with a decent game, the head coach seeing what happens if you give AP the ball, and a couple good catches by the recievers, will the game be in reach at the 4th quarter? I think the Vikings will play hard to try to prove themselves as a team.

The Vikings offense looked better last week, even playing the bears defense. Although in the end, I think Cowboys by 10, there offense is passing, inwhich is our weak point. I think it will be a good game.

What do you guys think?

I feel that we have a good chance to be in it if they can keep Owens some what contained and Witten too we should be able to stay close with very little mistakes.

AP makes it a lot easier for Jackson to pass. As longs and butter fingers can actually hold on to the ball should be fun to watch. Wait it is football it is always fun to watch.

I bleed purple but I think the cowboys passing attack will be too much for the viking secondary. I hope T-Jack can have a geat game, and AP rushes for another big day!! Good Luck Vikes!!

The way the vikings play i don't think the outcome will not be decided headed into the 4th quarter. They'll be able too run the ball and there will be opportunities too get some shots in deep, but once again its if any can be complete. You know teams are going too try and load up on the run. And i gotta believe one of these games intsead of getting none or 1 of the 5 deep balls on target he'll get 3 of them and that will be fun. A young QB's game is inconsistent and one of these games the ball will be on target and the recievers will catch em'. But i'd be foolish too predict a win. Cowboys 27-16.

Well it looks like the Vikings will be on tv again, barely! I will watch the game, it should be a good game, there will be the best 2 running backs playing each other.

As for my thoughts of this weeks game, I think the Vikings will come out ahead this week, and next week of course grin.gif . Vikings by a touch down!!!!

I play in three leagues and all total will have V.Jackson, Chambers, gates, LT, and the Chargers DEF going this week. And I also took the Chargers as my Eliminator (suicide/King of the Hill) pick.

Some guy in my FF league dropped Jamal Lewis 2 weeks ago. I quickly picked him up, and was a smiling fool last night- 4 tds + over 100 total yards.

I think AP will rush for 160 yds, score 2 td's, I think Sharper will have a couple int's, in the end Vikings 27-24.

Packers might win again but not by 2 TD's. Look for Bollinger too connect again on a few longballs this time. Holcomb missed several opportunities the first game. Bollinger will hit a few and make the pack pay for loading up the box. I think the vikings have a good chance. Momemtum can mean a lot and they have it after last weeks performance. It will be interesting if the vikings try too put heat on Favre like they did against the Chargers. It will not work as well but if you make Favre rush things he throws INT's. It will also be interesting too see how AP does again. I read something that said that AP really worked on being patient and waiting for the crease too open before the chargers. The coaches thought he was at times forcing the issue and not being patient. If the line plays like it did against the chargers AP will run loose all game long again. Its almost as if you dont care if a defense loads up on the run because you can stop him for no gain 2 times in a row and then just 1 crease and forget it, he cuts and you are not catching him. AP will get his, I think Bollinger will get his too with a few downfield shots. Now the question is if the defense can play like it did last week. A viking win wouldnt shock me, but if i had too pick a winner i'd take GB 23-20.

after all the stars shine (Favre, AP) the game will be decided by Crosby or Longwell. How sweet would it be to see Longwell kick a game winner for the Queens at the girl with the curl???

Vikes 22-20

How embarrassing, this was the worst game I have seen the Vikings play in about 6 years. Could anything go right? Well the good thing is we should have a really good draft pick this spring. After last week, I had false hopes for this team, not anymore.

Is Brad Childress the worst coach to ever hit the Vikings?

It's unbearable to watch him run our team each week. It's the end of the game, we're on the verge of a shutout, we could maintain some dignity and at least get some points on the board.

Nope. Not under chilly's watch. Instead of bringing in Longwell (well within his range), 4th and 7 with 51 seconds left. throw a 3 yard pass over the middle when you have no timeouts left.

Unbelievable...

It hurts to watch everytime after a win, its like brad gives the team the week off. We always get the pick of the litter dont we. Hats off to the green and gold they sure were prepared. And played theyre butts off.

I agree Childress is horrible, but he didnt drop them 4 int's that were handed to our defence, or drop almost every pass thrown to out recievers! I agree there wasnt a game plan, if there was it wasnt very good.

Childress could not put a game plan together to save his life!! I have seen so many times this year, at a crucial moment/situation, the camera shows him, looking at his "kick a** offense" playbook, look back to the field, look at the playbook.. complete deer in the headlights..

We got lucky last week. We won't see a game like that again this year. Thats for sure.

Coming up next weekend to pull up the docks for the last time. Yup, my brother-in-laws folks sold their place on Frazer Bay. They owned the beautiful place just west of the public boat landing. They are in their 80's and are going to stay put at their place on Arizona. Been coming up for 20 years and now I won't have a free place to vacation at. Going to have to do some surfing for rentals I guess. Anyways, how has the walleye fishing been? Guess the weather will be quite a bit cooler next week.  Thanks for all the help over the years!

Not at all a typical fall this year; more like a July lately. When the weather cools down next week fish will again start to set up in their cold weather locations. The last two weeks I have found fish (walleyes) along thick green cabbage and coontail edges,  deep basin transitions along steep breaks, and also suspended over deep water chasing forage.  One thing that remains constant during this time of year, regardless of temp., is that the days are getting shorter and the weeds are dying. Key in on the remaining green weeds, if your targeting shallow fish, and utilize your electronics to find schools of baitfish in deep water, either free roaming basins, or just off steep breaks. Lots of patterns going on right now that are putting fish in the boat. HAVE FUN!

Fall is very nearby and things are going the way they should.  Fishing is good, it is too windy and the water is cooling down quickly.....On this weeks report and important bit on our very own Aquatic Invasive Species......Enjoy it!
    • Wanderer
That's understandable given how you use the back reel technique.  I haven't used it the same way. Most of my trolling is done with baitcasters or levelwinds with counters.  The jigging part I hadn't considered before. "David, have you ever parred with a 7 iron?" "Well, Roy, it never occurred to me to even try."

An independent laboratory has confirmed zebra mussel larvae in Garfield Lake in Hubbard County. The lab provided photos of two zebra mussel larvae, called veligers, found in a water sample taken from the lake. Property owners on Garfield Lake hired the lab as part of their own monitoring. Invasive species specialists from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources found no zebra mussels in the lake during a six-hour dive survey. Garfield Lake will be added to the Infested Waters List for zebra mussels, with the provision that it may be removed from the list if future surveys continue to show no zebra mussels in the lake. Whether or not a lake is listed as infested, Minnesota law requires boaters and anglers to: Clean watercraft of aquatic plants and prohibited invasive species, Drain all water by removing drain plugs and keeping them out during transport, and Dispose of unwanted bait in the trash. Some invasive species are small and difficult to see at the access. To remove or kill them, take one or more of the following precautions before moving to another waterbody, especially after leaving infested waters: Spray with high-pressure water. Rinse with very hot water (120 degrees Fahrenheit for at least two minutes or 140 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 10 seconds). Dry for at least five days. As boat owners begin taking boats and equipment out of the water for the season, the DNR reminds them to carefully check for aquatic invasive species and contact the DNR with any suspected new infestations. Look on the posts, wheels and underwater support bars of docks and lifts, as well as any parts of boats, pontoons and rafts that may have been submerged in water for an extended period. Minnesota law requires that docks and lifts be allowed to dry for at least 21 days before being placed in another body of water, whether aquatic invasive species are present or not. People should contact an area DNR aquatic invasive species specialist if they think they have found zebra mussels or any other invasive species that has not already been confirmed in a lake.
