Wild Starting Strong (like last year), can they keep it up?

12 posts in this topic

The math doesn't lie, the Wild is on pace to go 82-0.

Last year the started strong and then got hit by injuries. Can they do better this year?

Any predictions for the year? I still think they are 5-8 seed.

If they can stay healthy, and the goaltending remains strong, Like I think it will, they will have a good season!

This is the year! I'm predicting a Stanley Cup for the Wild now that they have some maturity. You're witnessing the beginning of an era as we speak! wink.gif

I agree with you, Tonka Boy. We've been building a team for years and now it is go time. The acquisitions that were made the last couple of years have put us up there with the other contenders. And like any team in the NHL, staying healthy determines your season's fate.

I agree 100%, this team is fun to watch! I read an article that Demitra wants out, that would be a blow for the wild

[in robotic monotone voice] I think Backstrom's save percentage will remain at 98%. I think his goals against average will lead the league. Demitra, Gaborik and Walls are the best first line in the league. I really believe this team can go 82-0. Jacques Lemaire is brilliant. Doug Risebrough's moves have been genius. I think the Wild will win 3 Stanley Cups in a row. The only thing that can stop them is injury or getting complacent.

Well, they are the last undefeated team in the NHL. I would like to see how they react once they get their first losing streak or if Backstrom struggles between the pipes. I said before that they would be a 5 seed and I am sticking to it. Don't get me wrong I hope they finish #1 but I still say 5. They are 5-0 and Gabby hasn't gotten hot yet. Go Wild!!

The team seams to come and go with gabby. If he is hurt like last year, we will struggle. If he is healthy for the whole year(yeah right) then look out. We will be very tough.

But it comes down to scoring in the playoffs, we struggle every year.

Yeah next week looks good for getting out. Hopefully the snow totals stay on the low side but at least its gonna be the light powder variety.

Thanks guys.  So just to recap so far, Nils and KDrill require adapters, which add $30 or so, but you can use them w/out the drill plate if you want to.  How about Strikemasters do they need an adapter?     Also, just wondering if there is any legit reason to pay $100 more for the K Drill over the Nils?  Seems to me they are about the same weight (ballpark) and both cut pretty fast.     Thanks again for the info fellas!!
