Ely in National News...again

2 posts in this topic

Well, sadly enough Ely has made national news again. The following story was front page this morning on MSNBC and in Newsweek. I am not wanting to start up another 6 page heated discussion-I just thought I would provide the article link.

Must've been a slow news week nationally. Especially since the incident is now so old. I figure all of us on FM have had the chance to say about all there is to say about this. The thread that was moved to the outdoor discussion forum has basically petered out, though you can never be sure about threads over on that board.

I'm going to lock this thread (no offense Justin, and I thank you for the link) and put the link in that outdoor discussions thread. That oughta start it back up. grin.gif

The lakes took a beating and I was not out on Sunday to see the damage. Saturday I saw the first 4 to 5 inches turn soft. Be careful and check the ice conditions

Sometimes you need em that size.      You guys did push me over the edge so I had to go out Sunday afternoon.  Thanks for that.

I was going to try to go tomorrow (walking out in metro) despite the rain which appears to be light and I have a portable. Are you concerned about the ice conditions deteriorating throughout the day?  Or just for the rest of the week?
