I plan on coming up Oct 17th-21st to fish the rainy near baudette. I have never fished the river before and wondering if the big pigs will be in there at this time of the year? Or if it is going to be to early. It also seems like jigging is the way to go. Any other advice for a newbie? Thanks!

bring some banana shaped lures such as the rapala tail dancer or walleye divers and try some trolling if the jigging isnt working for you, some of the best fall action i have had on the river has been while trolling.

You should do good. We went up that time last year and caught some fish. Nothing big but did ok.

Ill be there the 9th - 12 and give a report when I get back.
