Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

I myself am not a big fan of them. I do have a couple friends that have them on their shotguns. They say they like them and that they are accurate, but saying that I have hunted with them and heard the one say that its a pain to adjust the brightness from dim at early shooting hours, to bright during high light hours, then to remember to turn it back dim again when its late afternoon. The other guy keeps leaving it on, and the second day is always complaining the battery is dead. He always has spare batteries, but there in his gun case back at the truck, doesnt help much when you are aiming at a deer! I would spend the money and buy a good scope, you wont regret it.

I have a bushnell Halo sight and it has been very good. I replace the battery right before season and I have never had a problem.

It has no power so you can shoot with both eyes open.

Several people I hunt with also have red (Contact Us Please) scopes and really like them.

I use a red in the middle type scope and would not trade it.I use it on a slug gun.

No eye relief distance like a scope,no need to close an eye to see through the scope which makes tracking a moving animal easier, great for low light conditions.

The draw backs are no magnifacation, batteries are a small worry considering I get 2 years typicaly out one, dimming and brightning the site for light conditions wich are not that tough. My biggest complaint would be the limit amount of adjustment. I think mine is 5 minute of angle and that makes it tough to fine tune for longer shots.

Batteries and hunting equipment don't make much sense to me, but I have never tried one. A good friend has one on his turkey gun and hates it. Real hard to see in bright sunlight.

I just purchased the Humminbird Autochart Pro to use wth my Humminbird 999. After going through the 'installation guide' and the 'get started guide' that's included in the Autochart PC program, I can't find what I need to do to get this on my model Humminbird. Anyone have experience? Thanks, Paul

Did well this morning on big bay with gold spinners. 24-26 feet off the edge of a reef. Decided since they were biting we'd try the west end to see if we could catch some big fish. Put up a big zero out there. Guess they behave a bit different from end to end.  On a small reef out west had a guy pull up on us, throw a marker right on the fish and camp out right there. Kind of tough to fish spinners when someone does that. What is the etiquette on this lake when someone does that? Just fish where you want even if you run right up on them or in between them and the marker? I see the thousand dollar  depthfinder in the back of the boat, just mark a waypoint and keep the marker in the boat man. Really grinds my gears. Whoops...sorry for the rant   Never had that happen on the east end though

Coming up next weekend to pull up the docks for the last time. Yup, my brother-in-laws folks sold their place on Frazer Bay. They owned the beautiful place just west of the public boat landing. They are in their 80's and are going to stay put at their place on Arizona. Been coming up for 20 years and now I won't have a free place to vacation at. Going to have to do some surfing for rentals I guess. Anyways, how has the walleye fishing been? Guess the weather will be quite a bit cooler next week.  Thanks for all the help over the years!
