No details but we hammered them Saturday and Sunday in 5-6 feet of water with a fathead on a 1/16th ounce jig head. Nice ones up to 12", most were 10".

Wow, where were you? The reason I ask is because we were in Isle bay along with the rest of the boats, and we were sure hammering them, but they were (mostly) all 6 inches. And this was not just me; the 100 boats around us were all bringing in little guys. However, I only fished from about 4 until dark, so maybe that made a difference. Only maybe, maybe 1 out of 20 fish was of respectable size.

After chatting with some of the guys at the Appledoorn's Get-Together this weekend, there are good Perch to be caught and they weren't fishing in Isle Bay. The guys fishing in Isle were reporting much the same I'm reading here, "maybe" 10 keepers per 100 bait sized perch caught.

The perch bite was great on Sunday. Limmited out on 9+ inchers with some in the 12+ range. We caught about 100 - 130 fish to weed thru the smaller one to get our limmit. Most fun I had fising all year.

Yep it was fun on Saturday. 10 to 12 inch perch and our boat limited out in about an hour. 5 to 6 feet on sand. Thats as much as you get out of me. I'm going back soon.

As far as I'm aware, the two main spawning spots are the Pike River on the east end and Black Lake on the west end. That said I think that walleye are probably spawning in many different areas around the lake. IMO it's kind of fun to look for those hidden gem areas.

Information about chronic wasting disease and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ management response to its discovery in two deer near Lanesboro will be the focus of a public meeting from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Fillmore Central School Auditorium, 702 Chatfield St., in Preston.  DNR staff will explain the disease and why a quick and aggressive response is the most effective way to limit its spread. They also will discuss response measures including establishment of a disease management zone, a special winter deer hunt, landowner shooting permits and the necessity to conduct an aerial deer population survey. Representatives from other state agencies and deer hunting groups also will be available to answer questions. Chronic wasting disease is a fatal brain disease to deer, elk and moose but is not known to affect human health. Prior to this discovery, the disease has only been found in Minnesota in one wild deer harvested near Pine Island in 2010. For more information, including maps of chronic wasting disease surveillance areas, common questions and answers and hunter information, visit the DNR’s CWD homepage. Discuss below - to view set the hook here.

Let the cold begin! Though, now I am seeing snow in the forecast for Sat evening and Sunday. Boy, hopefully that misses.

With the high wind's this week I really dont see much ice forming until at least the weekend.  Looking like I will be planning on hauling the ATV or sled up for the trip between Xmas and New Years again this year.
